We are seeking a skilled and passionate Commis Chef to join our culinary team. As a Commis Chef, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and the preparation of high-quality meals. You will be responsible for food preparation, cooking, and maintaining the standards of food safety and hygiene in a fast-paced restaurant environment under the guidance of a highly creative and professional team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, marinating, and measuring.
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are followed consistently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.
- Participate in menu planning and development as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience (min. 1 years) as a Commis Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Level 3 food safety.
- Grill chef experience – preferred.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- A passion for cooking and creativity in meal preparation.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team.
- Able to produce right to work documentation (e.g. passport or birth certificate & NI document)
