Now that all our Holiday Parks feature dog-friendly accommodation, we know you’ll be excited to make some lifelong memories with your canine companions. But holidaying with your pooch isn’t always easy – having to find places and activities where your dog is welcome can be a difficult task in and of itself.
Not to worry! We’ve compiled a list for you of some of the best dog-friendly places near each of our Parks, so all you need to do it get out there and enjoy your holiday.
Newton Hall
Walks
- Blackpool Beaches: Famous for its spectacular seafront, there’s no doubt you and your dog will want to enjoy a sandy, seaside walk along Blackpool’s beautiful beaches. While there is an exclusion zone where dogs are not allowed to be walked during high season, there are still two areas available to enjoy throughout the year – the South section between the Mirror Ball and Squires Gate, and the North section between North Pier and Anchorsholme.
- Stanley Park: Known for its bandstand, boating lake and Italian gardens, Stanley Park provides the perfect location for a peaceful walk all year round. While not allowed in the Rose and other Flower Gardens, dogs on a lead are welcome to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Stanley Park, whether that’s by walking around its 390 acres or sitting outside the Art Deco Café and watching the world go by.
Cafes/Restaurants/Pubs
- Café Chicco: The perfect place to visit after a walk on the beach, Café Chicco is Blackpool’s only heated dog café! With two locations along the seafront, one at South Shore and one across from Central Pier, this canine café offers a whole dog-friendly menu, featuring specials like chicken pieces ‘n’ carrots, sausages and bowls of biscuits. And with sweet treats including doggy donuts, cupcakes and popcorn, your furry friend is sure to leave with their tail wagging!
- Little Black Pug Bar: Set in a former catholic school, this vintage venue is one of the best-loved bars in Blackpool. With free live entertainment every weekend, including singers, 10-piece bands and DJs, and a food menu featuring a variety of homemade pub classics, there’s something for everyone’s taste at The Pug. Not only that, but this bar is both family AND dog-friendly, making everyone welcome to enjoy themselves.

- Rover Ticket: Blackpool has great bus and tram services, meaning you can get out and about easily to explore the wonderful areas nearby. And what’s even better is that your dog can come too! With single fares at 60p, and a special Rover24 ticket available offering your best friend 24 hours of travel for just £1, you can really get the most out of your visit. Staying for longer? You can even get a 7 Day Dog Ticket for just £5! And if you fancy a tour on one of Blackpool’s beautiful Heritage Trams, dog’s ride at no extra cost.
Broadwater
Walks
- Fleetwood Beach: With its stunning promenade and beautiful beaches, the historic coastal town of Fleetwood is popular for many who wish to spend a day by the sea. While dogs are not allowed to be walked on Marine Beach during high season, there are still two areas available to enjoy throughout the year – the North section between the Ferry and the former Pier site, and the South section between the Kite Club and Rossall Beach at Cleveleys.
- Fleetwood Marsh Nature Reserve: Located just around the corner from Broadwater Holiday Park, this nature reserve is a popular spot for dog owners. Enjoy a scenic walk by the duck pond or venture away from the footpaths and explore the surrounding wetlands and riverbanks – you might get a bit mucky, but you can be sure you and your dog will enjoy the adventure!

- The Steamer: This real ale pub offers live entertainment at the weekends, as well as food from The Little Restaurant in the side bar. With a selection of beers and ales to suit all tastes, this family and dog-friendly local pub is a great spot to enjoy a drink with your four-legged friends.
Transport
- Fleetwood Ferry: Just across the Wyre estuary lies the quaint seaside village of Knott End. With a beautiful seafront promenade and sandy beaches, it provides the perfect spot for a peaceful walk along the coast. Fleetwood Ferry offers regular trips across the River, with dogs welcome onboard for just 50p!
Events/Attractions
- Affinity Lancashire: Set on Fleetwood’s tranquil marina, this outlet shopping centre contains over 40 stores, ranging from clothing & footwear to homeware & gifts. And don’t worry, dogs are welcome at Affinity Lancashire, with dog drinking stations throughout the centre and many shops on site allowing your furry friends to accompany you in your shopping experience.

Walks
- Wyre Estuary Country Park: Situated on the banks of the River Wyre, this popular dog walking spot features a variety of routes through estuary and riverside views, perfect for your pet to explore and play while you take in the beautiful surroundings. With a café, picnic site and a children’s play area, Wyre Estuary makes for a lovely day out for the whole family to enjoy.
- Beacon Fell Country Park: Consisting of 217 acres of woodland, moorland and farmland, and boasting spectacular views of the Forest of Bowland and Morecambe Bay, Beacon Fell is a fantastic location for both casual and experienced hikers. Dogs are welcome to enjoy a visit to Beacon Fell, so choose which path suits you, including woodland trails, sculpture walks and summit hikes, and have fun exploring!
- Marton Mere: Once a rubbish tip, now a biodiversity hot spot, Marton Mere is a tranquil refuge on the edge of Blackpool. Home to hundreds of species of wildlife, including dragonflies, butterflies and orchids, this nature reserve is a beautiful place to enjoy a spot of wildlife watching or a peaceful walk with your four-legged friends.

- The Eagle at Weeton: Dating back to 1585, The Eagle at Weeton is one of Fylde’s oldest pubs! With fresh home-cooked food, real ales, a wide selection of wines and cocktails and a variety of events including pub quizzes and gin tastings, this community led pub is a firm favourite of the local area. The Eagle is proudly dog-friendly, and always encourage guests to bring their four-legged friends along!
- The Farmers Arms: Located in the picturesque village of Great Eccleston, The Farmers Arms is a traditional country pub which offers a selection of classic and contemporary dishes as well as an expertly crafted drinks menu. You can share the experience of this charming local pub with your canine companions too, both outside and in certain spots indoors!
Black Beck
Walks
- Fell Foot Park: Situated at the southernmost tip of Lake Windemere, Fell Foot Park is a fantastic family-friendly location to play, explore and relax. Take a stroll along the lakeside with your four-legged friends and let them enjoy a splash in the water on those extra hot days! With plenty of space to explore, including parkland and the south meadow, Fell Foot is a must when visiting Black Beck with your pet.
- Cumbria Way Walk: Linking the historic town of Ulverston to the city of Carlisle, the Cumbria Way is a low-level walk through some of the most beautiful landscapes Cumbria has to offer. From mountains, lakes and tarns to woodland walks and glacial valleys, you and your furry friends are bound to enjoy the incredible adventure this walk provides. At 73 miles in length, the Cumbria Way is the perfect introduction to long distance walking, but even if you’re not up for the whole journey, it’s a stunning spot to enjoy some breathtaking views.

- The Manor House: Located in the sleepy hamlet of Oxen Park in the South of the Lake District, this family run pub serves a range of home-cooked meals, local real ales and fine wines. Recently renovated, this cozy location is a great spot for families to enjoy a taste of the local area, with dog’s welcome too!
- The Rose & Crown: Situated in the heart of Ulverston, The Rose and Crown is a charming, award-winning pub and restaurant. With friendly staff and a large selection of ales, lagers, wines and more, this homely pub is sure to make you want to visit again. And with dog’s welcome in Sid’s Room as well as the bar area, you can now enjoy a pint with your pooch no matter the weather!

- Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway: Travel back in time aboard a vintage locomotive and enjoy the scenic ride from Haverwaite Station to Lakeside for a unique day out like no other! Try some of the delicious food selections from the Station Tea Room before boarding the steam train and enjoying the picturesque views from your carriage. And don’t worry – your four-legged friend can embark on your adventure for free!

- Skipton Castle Woods: Set in a beautiful river valley with upper and lower paths covering over 2 miles, Skipton Castle Woods has a selection of easy, moderate and advanced routes for people of all experience levels to enjoy. While you’re there, why not venture into the 900-year-old Skipton Castle? Dogs are welcome to join you in exploring the rich history of this fantastic location!
- Embsay Reservoir: Found on the outskirts of the quaint village of Embsay, this 1-mile circular walk around the Embsay Moor Reservoir provides beautiful views of the surrounding fields and moorland edge. If you and your pooch prefer a longer adventure, take a hike up to the summit of Embsay Crag to get an even better view of the scenic Yorkshire landscape.

- Kibble Bakery: Created with both human and hound in mind, this independent café is ultra dog-friendly, with an all-natural menu catered specially for your furry friend, as well as delicious dog treats made fresh every morning! Of course, you can enjoy a menu of your own, with fresh coffee and cakes so you and your pooch can both leave happy. And while you’re there, why not treat your dog to some stunning new accessories, or even a pamper session at the Kibble Dog Spa!

- Skipton Boat Trips: Enjoy a peaceful trip along Britain’s longest canal and relax as you take in the beautiful views of the Yorkshire Dales. Skipton Boat Trips offers a variety of packages, including afternoon teas and self-driving tours, and dogs are welcome aboard the Cobbydale to enjoy the fascinating 1-hour guided tour of the historic Liverpool & Leeds canal.
- Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway: Take a ride on a vintage steam locomotive for a unique journey back in time! Appreciate the picturesque views of the Yorkshire Dales from the comfort of a beautifully restored Victorian or Edwardian carriage, and your canine companion can come along for the authentic steam train experience too!
No matter which of our wonderful Holiday Parks you’re staying at, you can be certain that there’s an abundance of dog-friendly places and activities nearby, so you and your four-legged friends can have a fantastic holiday full of lots of woofs and memories!
