It’s over 8 weeks ago since the hospice challenge was set turn £50 into as much as possible for Brian House Children’s Hospice. Our three Fylde Coast parks and Grunty’s Day Care Nursery were keen to get involved and staff and customers entered into the spirit of the challenge and their competitive streaks really did shine.
Our assistant club managers visited the hospice at the start of the challenge and saw first hand the work done for local children and the invaluable support for their families. The fundraising then started!
We saw sponsored swims, climbs up the Big One, race nights, cake bakes and tandem rides…and that was just in one week! The team effort was superb and staff and customers really did rise to the challenge.
The finale to the challenge was the Hospice Corporate Challenge lunch where the results were announced. Twenty three local companies took part and the overall winner, raising a total of £6320 was Martin Wager at Newton Hall. Our other teams at Windy Harbour, Broadwater and Gruntys also did superbly and helped to reach the amazing total of £17,371 – making Partingtons the best overall company winner.
Well done and a huge thank you to everyone at all our Parks and the nursery for their tremendous support with this hospice challenge. Together we certainly made a difference.
