The cottage has recently benefitted from a complete refurbishment. Watchman's Cottage comprises of 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, 2 with ensuite facilities and one main family bathroom. One of the twin rooms is also equipped with a pull-out double sofa bed.
Whether you’re relaxing in the private hot tub, enjoying drinks outdoors or cosying up on the sofa to watch a film after a pub lunch – Watchman’s Cottage has it all!
The cottage provides privacy and seclusion with wonderful countryside views and is reached via its own private drive on Black Beck with dedicated parking adjacent to the cottage.

This charming, detached 2 bedroom modern cottage is nestled in the pretty, rural village of Bouth just a short drive from Windermere and the many other popular Lake District areas. Perfect for families, walkers and those simply wanting a quiet break away in the scenic Lake district.
Saltpetre Cottage is accessed via the entrance to the 5* Black Beck Holiday Park with static owners enjoying time at their second home. The barn conversion cottage offers its own private access, secluded with wonderful rural views and stunning gardens for our guests to enjoy.
Up until the year of 1928, Black Beck Holiday Park was known as the Blackbeck Gunpowder Mill. If you visit the Park today you can still find several historical buildings and structures that were once used to make and manufacture Gunpowder in Cumbria (Saltpetre Cottage and Watchman’s Cottage).
The Dickson family opened the Gunpowder Mill at Black Beck in 1860, the Gunpowder Mill employed more than 70 people and provided employment for local families for 68 years. After the gunpowder mills closed, employment was found in woodland industries, swill and besom making, coppicing and farm labouring. Bouth has once again become a picturesque village and provides great links to the ever so popular Lake District.
